Those are often dirt cheap, poorly made, and out of fashion in no time. If everyone made different choices, the mountain of clothes and CO2 emissions would be much smaller. Unfortunately, there is still far too much 'disposable clothing': we buy about 46 pieces of clothing annually and dispose of 40 of them.

Especially 'fast fashion' brands produce more than they can sell. This leads to a surplus of unnecessary clothing of mediocre quality and outdated fashion. At least 15% of all clothing remains unsold and unworn. In Europe alone, 5.8 million tons of clothing end up as waste every year; that's 11.3 kg per person. The damage to our planet is significant: textiles are already the world's fourth cause of global warming.

So, no unnecessary stock, but classic designs that are actually worn and last for years.
